There is so much to do in Les Arcs (Arc 1800) even if you do not want to get carried away with the winter skiing or summer hiking. Besides the numerous restaurants and bars, you can see and do so much. Please read on to find out about these activities.

Artificial Ice Rink

Based at the centre of the resort - take chair lift Vagere.

Cinema

In Bourg St Maurice and Arc 1800 there are cinemas, featuring Dolby sound, and different screening times throughout the day. Films marked VO on posters are shown in English.

Grotte de Glace

At the top of the Transarc chairlift, discover this exhibition with around thirty sculptures on theme of nature and Vanoise Humans.

Helicopter

You can take a helicopter ride over the mountains - an unbelievable experience.

Museum

In Bourg St Maurice visit Le Musee des Mineraux or Le Musee de la Pomme.

Library

In Bourg St Maurice, a library for the grown ups and the children.

Salle de Jeux/ Glissland

In Arc 1800, a Canadian style snow park where you descend on rubber tube tyres.

Pay a visit to the following:

• Hauteville-Gondon - home to one of the most beautiful baroque churches in the Haute Tarentaise region, offering an array of wonderful colours and gilding
• Séez - where craftsmanship goes hand in hand with tradition. Discover the spectacular baroque church of St Pierre and visit the Arpin Mill, where they have been carrying out the skills of the master woolworkers since 1817
• Vulmix - visit the old village of Vulmix, nestled around a 15th century chapel
• Follow Hannibal’s footsteps to Aoste From Bourg St Maurice via la Thuile over the Col du Petit St Bernard mountain pass. This road takes in the different landscapes of the Val d’Aoste, watched over by castles and church towers - the guardsmen of this legendary road.

Annecy - known as the Venice of the Alps, Annecy is one of the most beautiful lakes of Europe as well as a beautiful old town with shops, restaurants and historic buildings.

Haute-Savoie Region - do not miss the colourful weekly markets with their range of local produce.

Italy - enjoy the picturesque Aoste Valley, a short drive through the Mont Blanc tunnel. Pick up delicious local food at one of the daily markets.

Switzerland – a scenic train ride to Martigny in Switzerland from Le Fayet (through Chamonix) on the Mont Blanc Express is a popular outing. Once in Martigny visit The Pierre Gianadda Foundation or take the Chatelard Funicular up to the Emosson Dam from the Swiss village of Chatelard.
