At an altitude of 1800 metres, this resort is sure to measure up to all of your desires. Whilst facing Mont Blanc, you can take part in a number of summer activities: the golf course and tennis courts and to complete the adventure, set off to conquer the new climbing wall…before continuing your day comfortably settled in to one of the many resort bars and restaurants. Our apartments in are situated right by the golf course.
Climbing, Hiking and MountaineeringClimbing in the region is taking off and there is a new climbing wall in Arc 1800 and you can do courses plus and Via Ferrata. The valley is beautiful and the hiking season can start as early as April in Les Arcs. There are some recommend walks to do: Refuge Robert Blanc - Robert Blanc refuge is located in a stony area in the high mountains. It is accessible to all and boasts a unique panorama over the Vanoise national park and the Oisans region. Vanoise National Park - home to summits that rise above 3,000 metres. It offers more than 500 kilometres of marked routes that are sure to be more than enough to satisfy your desires. Accompanied by qualified mountain guides climb up to the mountain tops and discover neves and glaciers and set off to find lands that you never before imagined. Les Cinq Lacs - Lacs de la Forclaz. You will need lightweight boots and shorts, waterproofs, sunglasses, plus skin and lip protection. Always have a drink at hand as well. Walks are well sign posted. In the valley you can do one day walks from the cable car stations and further afield two day plus walks in surrounding French areas, Italy and Switzerland. GolfGolf in the Alps is popular with holiday makers who want to take in the mountain air while enjoying a leisurely round of 9-18 holes. The 18 hole golf course at Les Arc 1800 (5560m/ 6080 yards - Par 70) is a 60-hectare course with gentle slopes facing Mont Blanc and the valley of Isere. The course is rich in downhill runs making ideal for a short game. Our Chantel apartments are right on the golf course in the summer. Open averagely 28 Jun - 03 Aug.
Mountain BikingBoasting some of the best downhill mountain biking sites in Europe, Les Arcs and La Plagne offer and endless amount of challenging terrain set in breathtaking surroundings - because of the technically demanding level of the trails and the steep downhill plummets, intermediate to advanced riders will be especially suited to the resort. Arc 1600 is home to a permanent downhill trail, which at 3270m in length and with a vertical drop of 547m, is a run for experts only with sharp banked turns, jumps and North Shore sections. For those who aren't as addicted to the adrenaline, Les Arcs has trails to suit all level of rider including more scenic rambles and longer cross-country circuits. Also new to Bourg St Maurice is the Trial Park, with two more practice parks at Arcs 1800 and Arcs 2000. There are another two North Shore routes (one beginner, one expert) situated in Arc 1600, a 4-cross, a slope style and a practice park. If that's not enough for you, put your bike on the Vanoise Express and head over to La Plagne to experience a whole new resort.
ParapentingParapenting is a very popular sport in Les Arcs due to the high mountains and great winds.
Sports CentreOur apartments are ideally positioned less than 200 metres from the sports centre, with a picnic area, swimming pool, tennis courts as well as multiple other activities.
Water SportsYou can do all the white water sports listed below in the Les Arcs. Early in the summer, in May and June, the rivers are usually high with snow melt from the mountains. During July, August and September the water levels are usually lower and the temperature warmer.
CanyoningVertical swimming with exciting water-slides into deep pools.
HydrospeedWhite water swimming is offered by all the rafting companies and is great fun. Thick, reinforced wetsuits, crash hats and flippers are provided but you will still feel vulnerable.
KayakingThis is good around Les Arcs in the Isere.
RaftingThis is a good white knuckle ride and the Isere is a popular local river. |
